Word Woman

Welcome to another exciting installment of Word Woman's Weekly Work-Out! On a cold and rainy day in early autumn, there's nothing more comforting than curling up with a good book, and Word Woman's favorite choice is the dictionary. Since this isn't everyone's cup of tea, we'll just stick with a single selection -- the Word of the Week:

Immaterial: [adjective]
1. Not consisting of matter : incorporeal
2. Of no substantial consequence : unimportant

"immaterial", http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/immaterial , 9/9/2010.

Example: As he was not a believer in the supernatural, Jim found the program on ghosts and other immaterial beings to be rather immaterial to him, so he changed the channel and watched ESPN instead.
