Word Woman
Welcome to another astonishing episode of Word Woman's Weekly Work-Out! In conjunction with the Big Read, which will be taking place in October, Missoula Public Library will be showing one of five fabulous film noir movies on Cheap Date Night (October 15th). Which one will we show? We're letting you decide. You can vote for your favorite online at our Facebook page or come to the Accounts Desk for a paper ballot. The winner will be announced at this month's Cheap Date Night (September 17th). What exactly, you may ask, does film noir mean? According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, it means:
Film noir: A type of crime film featuring cynical malevolent characters in a sleazy setting and an ominous atmosphere that is conveyed by shadowy photography and foreboding background music; also : a film of this type
Example: George bought a new fedora to wear to the "Come as you Noir" film noir festival at his local theater.
