You Named that Bookcover!

Another riveting week of Name that Bookcover has passed, and with it, another lucky winner of some stellar illumination! Congratulations to Scott C. who submitted his correct guess to the Library Accounts Desk -- you've won this week's MPL booklight!

Synopsis:
Sixteen-year-old Katniss poaches food for her widowed mother and little sister from the forest outside the legal perimeter of District 12, the poorest of the dozen districts constituting Panem, the North American dystopic state that has replaced the U.S. in the not-too-distant future. Her hunting and tracking skills serve her well when she is then cast into the nation's annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death where contestants must battle harsh terrain, artificially concocted weather conditions, and two teenaged contestants from each of Panem's districts. District 12's second tribute is Peeta, the baker's son, who has been in love with Katniss since he was five. Each new plot twist ratchets up the tension, moving the story forward and keeping the reader on edge. Although Katniss may be skilled with a bow and arrow and adept at analyzing her opponents' next moves, she has much to learn about personal sentiments, especially her own. Populated by three-dimensional characters, this is a superb tale of physical adventure, political suspense, and romance.--Distributed by Syndetic Solutions, Inc.

Where's the Overdrive section at MPL?  It doesn't occupy an actual space in the building, but it's a link to downloadable audiobooks you can find on the homepage of our website.  If you haven't tried to use this service yet, you will be instructed to download and install a media console, which will allow you to download audiobooks to your computer. You can download complete books, or select individual chapters if you have a slow connection. Head to the help section if you're having trouble getting started. If the title you wish to download is checked out, don't fret -- you can place a hold on it just like any other item at the library, and you will receive an email when it's available.  All titles are iPod compatible!

You have three more chances to Name That Bookcover and be entered into a raffle for a fabulous MPL booklight! Check back this Monday for our next exciting installment of Name That Bookcover and be sure to make a guess! You can submit online via the MPL blog, Twitter, or Facebook pages, or see a friendly staff person at the Missoula Public Library Accounts Desk to make a submission in person.
