It's beginning to look a lot like....

It's even more festive inside!
The snowy weather has gotten the Missoula Public Library staff into a festive mindset this week.  On Friday, the Lolo Brownies made their annual jaunt to our lower lobby to spruce up the official MPL Christmas tree.  And what a spectacular (and patriotic) job they did!   Adorned with yellow ribbons, decorated stars with the names of local soldiers, some crafty blue globes, and delicious-smelling cinnamon cookie ornaments, the Lolo Brownies certainly outdid themselves this holiday season.  Thank you, ladies!
We like to spread cheer throughout the building when possible, so we've put up a very special Toiletries Tree (we like to call it a toiletree) near the library's main entrance.  While returning your books, you can also give back to the Missoula Community by donating personal hygiene items for the Domestic Violence Shelter.
But wait, there's more!  We're going to brave the wintry weather and take our Christmas cheer to the streets this weekend.  Keep your eyes peeled for our book cart drill team at this Saturday's Parade of Lights.  Our bookcarts are all gussied up for the occasion.  All aboard!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Here in Missoula we're finally starting to get some snow accumulation. We started the first full day of winter off right as we woke up with a couple of inches of snow and a gentle snowfall. And just three days before Christmas, we sure needed it!

Neither Rain Nor Snow...

Missoula has turned out in surprising numbers on the coldest, snowiest day we've seen so far this winter. It's not like we're flooded with people, but people have been trickling in since we opened.

I, for one, will be glad to get home, shovel my steps and sit down with a nice hot cup of hot chocolate and a movie.
