Giving Thanks

We at Missoula Public Library are thankful for a lot of things this year, but there's one thing in particular that makes us radiate with a thankful glow: you, our wonderful patrons.

During Amnesty Week, you came out in droves to donate much-needed toiletries to the Missoula Food Bank . Our garage area got very cramped with bulk packages of toothpaste and shampoo, and we couldn't have been happier.

We hope that all those clean slates that were produced during Amnesty Week have made for a bounty of great reading, listening and viewing material to keep you cozy & entertained during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Missoula Public Library will be closed on Thursday, November 25th and Friday, November 26th.

We will re-open at 10am on Saturday, November 27th.

Have a safe and happy holiday.

Soup-er collection

The library has always been the spot for collecting things: books, movies, newspapers, and more. But last week we were the spot for collecting canned goods for the Missoula Food Bank. Thanks to everyone who donated. We had a great big pile ready for the Food Bank this morning:
We're done collecting Food for Fines (for now), but you can always make a food donation at the Food Bank.

Food for Fines

Fines are like cavities. Nobody likes to talk about them much, but most people get them from time to time. Fortunately, we have a cure for that here at the Missoula Public Library. It's called Food for Fines and it comes around about twice a year or so. The good news is, it's coming around again at the end of September. So, if you have one you need to take care of, just bring some non-perishable food items to the Library during the week of September 21st-28th and we'll waive your fees. Please be sure to check the expiration dates first, though, as the Food Bank does not accept items which are past their date. Also, just a reminder that Food for Fines applies only to overdue fees, not to damage or replacement charges. And remember, it's all for a good cause, because all donations go to stock the shelves of the Missoula Food Bank.
