The Dog Days of Winter

Winter really just started, but it's been so cold it seems like it will never end. We have just the thing for you tomorrow (December 20th) in the large meeting room. Celebrity pup Moritz will be here to give pawtographs and read from his new book with a little help from some guy named Barry (who will also be available for autographs).

In conjunction with the reading we'll be decorating cookies to get you in the Christmas spirit. The event will kick off at 2 pm.

What the Health Fair?

We hosted a city wide health fair today in our Large Meeting Room. Over 20 organizations came to offer services ranging from bone density screenings to nutrition information. The fair was the cap to our week of health related programming aimed specifically at baby boomers. If you missed any of the programs or the health fair, be sure to click here for a sort of "electronic health fair" representing most (if not all) of the topics discussed at our programs and fair, along with some things that weren't touched on.



My favorite part was the snacks. I don't think of myself as a particularly healthy eater, but my afternoon snack often consists of either string cheese or pretzels so I must be doing something right.

Surrounded By Sound

We recently installed a great new sound system in our Large Meeting Room. Now there are eight, count 'em eight, speakers, which allow us to finally use the Dolby Digital Surround Sound we've had for awhile, but couldn't take advantage of. There are two speakers up front that will just broadcast dialog, and the remaining six surround you and add motion to the sounds. When the killer is sneaking up behind you, you'll hear his creaking footsteps coming from behind you. Be sure to come down and take advantage, so far only one movie has been shown in surround sound. The next big one will be our World Wide Cinema festival shorts selection next Friday. Don't miss out!
