One More Reason to Come to Our Open House Tomorrow

I'll be giving away free READ posters near the reference desk! This could be you. (Except you won't be climbing a mountain.)

We'll have a selection of books for you to hold, or you can bring your own. If all goes according to plan, you'll be able to take it home with you! So stop by and say hi, and I'll make you a poster. By the way, this is one night only, so you'll have to come tomorrow (February 5th) between 5 and 7 pm to get your poster.

Farewell

My fellow blogger and longtime co-worker Brianna finished her last hours at the library today. She's moving on to the greener pastures of Bonner to work at the school library there. It's no Hawaii, but at least she'll get to put her recent MLIS to good work. It was a bittersweet day, since we had a HUGE staff potluck of delicious food, but lost one of the best librarians we've ever had here at the library.

I'll miss working with Brianna and wish her all the best in her next job. Bonner is sure lucky to have her!

Take Your Dog to Work Day

Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day, and Brianna brought her two dogs, Jake and Lily, to the library where they sat in on our staff meeting. They were more excited to take off and explore the outside of the library after the meeting was adjourned than sit quietly in the meeting.

My only question is when is Take Your Cat to Work Day? I'd guess that cats wouldn't stand for it, and it would turn into show up to work with cat scratch fever day.
